Strategic Focus Areas (SFAs):

OAF seeks to strategically implement activities under the following thematic areas in line with policies of the Republic of Uganda. We are involved in both emergency and development programs. In emergency we focus on human rights abuse and child protection for vulnerable communities while our long term strategic priorities (11 SFAs ) that supports emergencies and Development programs in Uganda are below;

SFA 1: Promoting Girl to Boy Child Education
Result 1:
Improve and provide information to teachers, parents, children and the communities on the benefits of educating boys and girls and its general role in community development through community meetings and gatherings, career guidance in schools, radio talk shows etc

SFA 2: Women Inclusion
Result 2:
Increasing community participation and involvement to promoting women inclusion and awareness on the benefits of advocating for social equality, gender parity and equal opportunities.
OAF provides a platform for inclusion of women through training and engagements of local leaders and the communities reporting Gender Based Violence (GBV), rape, domestic violence, and issues surrounding Sexual Reproductive Health (SRH)

SFA 3: Solidarity with the poor
Result 3:
OAF is actively involved in enhancing the lives of the poor by creating awareness and advocacy in communities to take lead in accessing skills development programmes and urging young people to take centre stage in advocating for equal rights and opportunities.

SFA 4: Children
Result 4:
Increasing community participation and involvement to promoting human rights awareness and defend children rights such as rights to education, health, food and increase access to quality welfare for children particularly those affected by conflicts and extreme poverty.
OAF provides a platform for engagements of government law enforcement department such as police, local judiciary courts through community sensitisation, reporting child abuse cases such as defilement, rape, child labor, for investigations and action.

SFA 5: People With Disabilities (PWDs)
Result 5:
Increasing community participation and involvement to promoting human rights awareness and defend people with disabilities rights such as rights to education, health, food and increase access to quality welfare for adults with disability, particularly those affected by conflicts and extreme poverty.
OAF provides a platform for engagements of government law enforcement department such as police, local judiciary courts through community sensitisation, reporting child abuse cases such as defilement, rape, child labor, for investigations and action.

SFA 6: Pre-Entry Programs for Young Mothers
Result 6:
Supporting pregnant and parenting students to complete high school and post-secondary education. Most of these mothers lose their education support from their sponsors and mothers.
OAF offers platform to pregnant students the opportunity to attend smaller programs during duration of their pregnancy, delivery during current school year

SFA 7: Combat Teenage and Male Prostitution
Result 7:
Improved units for those who want to quit prostitution, pressing charges against pimps, and an increased number of back to school personnel. Pimps are very good at persuading girls into this prostitution as they manage their earnings and may physically abuse them if they refuse.
As OAF, we shall provide a strong support for teenage, offer guidance through all media connections, schools.

SFA 8: Youth Empowerment
Result 8:
Reduced youth livelihoods and reduced poverty levels among the youths, young mothers and fathers and other vulnerable population through provision of vocational and entrepreneurship training, establishment of well-equipped and reliable vocational skills training centres for sustained and strengthened economic transformation and development for the youth.

SFA 9: Community grass roots outreach
Result 9:
Provide efficient education through reaching out and directly engaging with the community.
OAF strives for engagements of the community through education on the issues that need urgent involvement of community members.

SFA 10: Research
Result 10:
OAF knows that only through research, policy can be influenced.
Through research, critical problems that society faces can be identified and action can be taken and solutions can be given to policy makers on how best to tackle the problems in society including; poverty, child abuse, drug abuse, human rights abuses and so forth.

SFA 11: Sexual Reproductive Health
Result 11:
Supportive to girl’s health against sexually transmitted infections, through advocacy for safe abortion that can lead to death, promote family planning.
OAF offers platform to pregnant students the opportunity to attend smaller programs during duration of their pregnancy, delivery during current school year.
